I was over at a friend's place, and we were listening to LPs and CDs.The CDs sounded good but the LPs were mediocre.
The system:
Basis 2500/Graham 2/Helikon
Legend Audio electronics
Totem speakersThe LP sound just wasn't there--bland and lifeless. After a couple of hours, we decided to try something. We swapped in a different power chord for the phono stage.
Yes, night and day! The sweet sound of vinyl is back!
It beats me how a power chord could make such a dramatic difference in the entire musical structure, but it did. We are both experienced audiophiles who have listened to hundreds of systems, but anyone would have heard this.
