I just found my old Shure V15 IV in my hi-fi equipment box that I used about 20 yrs ago for a short while. It was not used since then due to a shift to CDs in my system.(I addede a vinyl system back about a year age) I was curious if it still worked and put it on my tt in place of my Dyna 10x4. Well I was really surprised that first it still works but also amazingly how good it sounded. After several hours of listening I think I like it better than what I have been listening to. It has a more natural sound with no exagerations of instruments that sound out of place. I remember back then I always prefered the natural sound of Shure cartridges. I think that maybe too many of todays cartridges try to sound like digital in being more precisely focused and have ultra clearity that may not be natural. Anyway I am keeping the Shure in my system for now. Just an interesting event.
