KAB Technics

Greetings,
Just trying to decide what mod to perform first to my trusty 1200MKII
I'm only thinking of arm damper and the rca phono upgrade but have seen an RB300 arm on a 1200 somewhere.

Which one first? the Damper or the RCA upgrade and is the RCA upgrade difficult and 2) Sonically evident?

With limited soldering skills I'd really like to upgrade the rca's but feel that the stock wiring is par for the course vs. the stock RB300's wiring which is what is on my P3.

I'm happy to say that right now, with my new Micro Ace MO MC the 1200 is leagues beyond the P3 with clearaudio Aurum Alpha Wood rig with my jd-9a phono pre.

I've got a spare headshell that I will be mounting the Aurum on within the next few days to compare the sonics vs. the P3 with same cart. I'm not really that optimistic for the P3 as right off the bat, firing up the 1200 was like listening to an old friend telling an engaging story that we both knew...I just like listening to her tell it.

With all the years behind me as a mobile DJ, the Technics has that certain "something" - it's no wonder it's still an industry standard to that regard - but listening to her in an audiophile capacity just brings a smile to my face.

Maybe it's the cart and deck combo but whatever it is...I'm smitten again!

Thanks for listening to me on my soapbox...it's just too good not to share!

and thanks in advance for any tips/suggestions re: the KAB mods.
