Re: Getting a Rush from Rush (oooo, I'm gonna get beat up for this)

First time I heard Rush, I was comfortably baking in a lysergic acid diethylamide casserole, topped with a savory layer of hash (pretty sure there were some crushed Oreos in there as well), and a friend put on 2112 real loud: Woooohoo!

I still give em an occasional spin, and I have a few favorite tunes: "Lakeside Park," "Anthem," "Twilight Zone," "A Passage to Bangkok," and a rarefied handful from "A Farewell to Kings" and "Hemispheres," but the latter was it for me. I just never made a connection with their subsequent offerings; too preachy and mainstream predictable for my tastes, I guess.

My wife refers to them as "adolescent boy music," and who am I to argue?
