Yeah. When someone brings up magnetic suspension, I naturally recall the Platine Verdier with its magnetic bearing. Nice classic design which, by many accounts, can be tweaked to good effect with a Teres motor/controller setup.No matter how many times I see photos of the Wilson Benesch arm, I just can't get used to the visual aesthetic of it. Presumably the tapered arm tube, by its constantly changing diameter, dissipates resonance before it can reach the pivot bearing.
