In Reply to: Is there such thing as a cartridge shim kit ? If yes, where do I get one ? (nt) posted by reelsmith. on September 10, 2006 at 16:13:47:
Thorens supplied shim kits with their turntables that were outfitted with the TP16 tonearm (and its variants) Even though Thorens made it easy to adjust vta at the base mounting, the owners manual instructed the user to use shims to adjust the cartridge height off the headshell in conjunction with a supplied alignment fixture. This fixture was used to adjust overhang and azimuth as well. The fixture is NLA and hard to find used.If you would like to abtain an oem shim and screw kit I think Rolf Kelch Electronics still supplies these. Also, if you are in Britain you might give Technical and General a call.
