Thorens TD-124 speed issue...too fast

Hi all,

Thanks to the generosity of a member, I got the ball bearing I needed for the main platter.

When I bought the table last month, it was listed as running slightly fast. According to the strobe on the platter, that seems accurate...a little fast at all 4 speeds (I have not done a listen yet, because the arm is non-functional.)

So far I have cleaned the main platter bearing and well, cleaned and lubed the motor, and cleaned the pulleys. The belt appears to be the right size and is not worn.

The center knob which finely adjusts the speed, is operational, but it does not succeed in slowing down the platter to what the strobe says is correct.

So, I am looking for suggestions on how to slow this table down, just slightly. Or, could it be I acquired it with something set in 50hz mode??? For example, is there a motor pulley to reverse? For the record, there is no sigh it was ever run at 50hz...but who knows whether a former owner messed up.

Thanks for any help to be offered.

Dave
