My guess is that you can replace yours with a decent condition used one for less. I have seen nice ones for sale in the $350 range. A re-tip will probably run $500, but you can pick the tip, and you'll be assured of a quality standard...or should be, anyway. Garrott Brothers is famous for their fine workmanship...and slow delivery, but good things come to those who wait.
