VPI Question: 10.5" JWM tonearm vs. 9" JWM tonearm?

Can anyone tell me if a 10.5 JWM tonearm fits on a VPI HW-19 MKIII and if it would need a new armboard to fit? The current arm board is for a Rega tonearm but also fits Audioquest and JWM 9" tone arms.)
Is the 10 1/2" better than a 9" or is it just different?
I've been looking to buy a 9" JWM tonearm for my VPI HW-19 MKIII but I keep running into 10.5's for sale.
I "think" I know that a 12" tonearm is the best, but I don't really know. I'm currently using a Rega RB300 Tonearm and I think those are 9" tonearms.
Any help here would be appreciated.
