Help Goldring 1042 - SME III - Thorens 125 II tracking too low.

Advise & help. The Golding has the bottom lip that can lightly touch the surface when down on even fractional warp.. If I increase VTA the stylus wont even touch the record.

The arm wand really looks to me that it has a fractional up curve near the end (Ebay?) and has been rewired.

Flat sound, not enthralling at all, but I also have a ground hum to get rid of as well contributing to this. (just needs a new wire from TT to phono Pre)

what can I source to make the cartridge lower in headshell without adding much weight so I can play with VTA. Cartridge has no problems on a Linn and Alphason arms
