That may be a good call... it would also explain the kind of clunky startup-automation shown .. racks of these decks could be pre-set with the 16" transcription discs for replay when startup was cued from the announcer's desk......
Various features, remotes, news-items, etc could be handled with not much interference necessary from techs, who would move on to pre-setting already-played discs with new material....J.
