I didn't quote the entire short article, nor was a link available at this time. Anyway the numbers given by the British Phonographic Institute are of a sixfold increase in the past five years, accounting for 12.2 percent of all singles sales in 2004 and 14.7 percent in 2005.As such, the increase of vinyl single sales is indeed statistically meaningful for the period in question no matter who is buying them.
