Re: Angel classical

I have several red label pressings (Klemperer's Brahms cycle) that sound pretty good. I've found a number of issues with a variation of the standard light blue label. These have a black band near the edge of the label. All of these issues have beautiful textured jackets with a maroon or black spine and have "stereo" embossed in gold on the front of the jacket. Does anyone know what the black band signifies? The titles are drawn from the EMI SAX, and early ASD catalogs. They are American pressings and are very good. I was able to compare the Beecham Scheherazade with the EMI SXLP and found the emi is superior. Still, I feel that these are a superb value and satisfactory until the EMI is at hand.
