I must have passed over that version any number of times here in the UK. Next time I see a good pressing, I'll pick it up. You can't have too many Magic Flutes (you have only one?).
I passed it over because, like you, I don't think of Solti as conductor of Mozart. But if you're recommending it, Doug...
One more feature of the Eterna set, as we were exchanging posts a few days ago about the street urchins in Carmen. The three boys are actually boys, not adult female sopranos. They are quite superb, and very much in tune and in time. Makes a big difference, IMHO, to have boys in these roles. Oh, and Peter Schreier is a very fine Tamino.
