What I can add to the mass.... Is a contrarian viewpoint.

First I put an 800 dollar cartridge on a 350 dollar turnatable and it ended up escallating up to what I run today....

As someone that sold electronics in the past I can say that the concept that the source is supreme and then move down from there... I have a problem with that philosophy.

First you need great speakers. The best you can afford that have the broadest sound range you can achieve with your room.

Then you need a decently clean amp and preamp.

Now for your table, you need to system match the table, arm, cartridge and phono section.

Dollars is not the issue. System matching is the key to really great sound.

When you have a system that can actually resolve your music then you can sit back and say damn that sounds real. Until then you are chasing the holy grail.

Spend your money where you can hear it and then on the stuff that makes it even better.

That is my 2 cents worth.
