Excellent points regarding getting it spinning and matching drive unit style to rotor mass and brg style.
Is 2k for this starter tt project in line?
I am a relative noob and would appreciate tapping the wealth of knowledge here. I just saw this pop up and thought to myself, hey, I have a chance to buy something I won't have to upgrade anytime soon.
The pabst is an oe motor for a thorens 124 mk II, yes?
These are available for 500$.
I am willing to be patient to bring this together.
I have some amazing resources, I manage the maintenance for a few local gravestone cutters and could get a bitchin' slab with cutouts...
I haven't been able to stop thinking about this tt, I am firmly hooked.
When I get to go see it I will report back, it seems there is conflicting data regarding the rx5000, some say they were split air brg/conventional, some say they all were air brg. This would present yet another hurdle.
