My Dehavilland preamp uses the 6SN7 tube.
I've tried everything from EH to top of the line Sylvania 6SN7W metal base and Tung-Sol black plates.The EH tubes are by far the worst sounding in my system.
They are very hard, sterile, bright sounding tube.If you don't want to pay the big bucks for the Syl 6SN7W or TS black plates try some RCA smoke glass 6SN7’s.
The RCA's are very smooth but a tad rolled off and are available at a reasonable cost.Dale
