Which CD are you comparing the vinyl to?

206.241.2.38

There is the original CD and the recent remaster. Not the same animal at all.

FWIW, I prefer the Classic vinyl over my early Columbia pressing although the Columbia vinyl isn't bad at all. However Columbia probably re-cut this LP dozens of times so I imagine there's probably going to be some noticable variability in the sound of different Columbia pressings.

The remaster CD sounds okay but is EQ'd a little too hot for me and sounds like it has some additional compression that the vinyl doesn't have.

In the end, while BTR is a great LP, it isn't exactly one of the highpoints of high fidelity recording so there is only so much that can be done with it short of re-mixing (which would be sacrilege, of course).
