Sorry for not seeing this thread right away. I too love the Cornet 2. I have the Supratek full function preamp with a very nice phono section (6922&6C4 tube compliments), the Hagerman Trumpet, and the Cornet 2. To say that in my system the Cornet sounds very nice is a compliment for it comparing to the other more costly phono preamp that I have.I bought the case from Jim (Hagerman) directly because I want to avoid the drilling of the recommended ones. With all stock components (from the recommended parts list), the Cornet sounds very good indeed. Now I have sub some Sonicap Platinum, Mundorf Supreme Silver in Oil, for coupling caps, Auricap for power supply by-pass and Riken for resistors. So far, I am waiting for the phono stage to settle down but sounds great! I am using Sovtek 12AX LPS and Bugle Boy 12AU's.
