They all sound terrible...

if they were damaged before you got them. And some, even when NM, sound better than others. I have many other labels that I think are as good or even better than the dogs. I have some Chesky, Classic, etc reissues that sound really good.

Just last night I listened for the first time to a 1s/1s I found at a thrift. It looked NM but sounded G-. It's going back to the thrift.

On the other hand I also listened to another Dog that sounded GREAT. I thought "This has to be a 1s". It turned out to be a 40s. I was shocked.

Surprises and disappointments are a part of the hobby and part of life in general.
