The deal with "loading" is that you want to present the cartridge with a compatible impedance in the preamp. This can have significant influence on the performance of a cartridge.It is a topic with which I currently only have vague understanding. It is the reason that people typically place step-up tranformers between MC carts and phono stages.
A couple years ago, Jim Hagerman answered my personal questions concerning the Bugle; I would suggest trying that, or posting a question to the Hagerman discussion board. Given a cart's specs, you can get ideal loadings for your Bugle.
