I usually don't argue the point when someone says if it's digital it sucks or all CDs suck or blah blah blah.. But you've hit the nail on the head.If something sounds like crap, it's usually because whoever engineered the thing was either a lousy engineer, or they were recording it to please tone-deaf record company pinheads.
I have plenty of digitally recorded LPs and CDs that sound incredibly good. And plenty of analog recordings that are just plain lousy. And vice versa.
