I've got a few 45's - been collecting them on and off over the years. Reasons I collect are for different versions of an lp cut (longer/shorter/different mix/mono version, etc) or there's a non lp b side - that type of thing. My punk and new wave 45's tend to sound pretty good with low noise and good to great sonics. Some 60's and 70's country and even 80's pop stuff sounds very good on 45. Some better sounding of mine are on Factory and early IRS for the punk/new wave, RCA for the country stuff and (surprisingly) Columbia for some 80's stuff.
My limited experience - I'm sure there are more avid and knowledgeable collectors of 45's around here.
Mike
