That's the list price of the Decca Reference. What, not a MM? Well, it's certainly not an MC, with its 5 mV output. My own Decca Super Gold Mk VII cost a mere $900, but I'd say it's pretty close to high end. Unbelievable dynamics and musicality. Deccas are supposed to be hell on wheels (mistracking, strange noises, etc.) but mine is perfectly well behaved. Just thought I'd mention it.
