A lovely succinct piece, and anyone with used records to clean should follow this advice
I tried all these home brew things with moderate success, but it was only when I started using Disc Dr and RRL with vinyl-zyme that I achieved the sonic rehabilitation I so craved from my bargain bin used record collection
Don't forget the clean sleeves, that's important after all that hard work
Vinyl-zyme works a treat for the mould containing records, the coloured "gunk" that comes off with the cotton pads is amazing
I use a separate clean cotton pad with each clean, which adds little expense, and stops cross contamination.
Do watch for Disc Dr is thoroughly rinsed
It will also sound better if you let it thoroughly dry!
All the bestPS, they really aren't that expensive to use, if you use on a cotton wipe, a bottle lasts for hundreds of records!
