I'm glad you like it. I'm not surprised that it is better than the CD. Some of the people involved in creating the LP were not has happy overall. There was a lot of compression in the original masters, apparently; and Knopfler's and Harris' vocals were recorded out of phase from each other. Not a great recording to begin with. I'm a fan of both of their's, but the samples I have heard have not overwhelmed me. This may be one to get on CD for me.I, too, would love it if someone would issue "Sailing to Philadelphia" on LP someday. Stan Ricker did the mastering on "All the Roadrunning," the upcoming reissue of "Brothers in Arms," and a new LP issue of "Shangri-La." I find the first issue of the latter to be a bit dry and compressed, though better than the CD. I'm guessing that the Stan Ricker mastered version will be even better.
