Hi,I have a Technics SL-1200 MkII with a Shure M97xe cartridge. I spent a good deal of time aligning the cartridge and dialling in the VTA and arm weight. I believe these adjustments are not optimized. The setup is working reasonably well; read - doesn't skip and no sibilance, but there is a certain energy missing from the music. The tunes sound boring. Any ideas? I am open to replacing the cartridge, but I must stick with a MM due to the lack of a MC step-up device.
All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
