This is a 110 volt model and I did buy it in Canada from a fellow canadian. so yeah I made sure the belt was on the right loop on the pulley. I wanted 33 rpm, and since this is 110 60 hz that's on the second loop from the top. I did notice the pulley seems to be awefully close to the edge towards the platter. I don't know if that affects performance.The unit had just been to the dealer/distributor in canada to replace the tonearm wire so I assumed they had checked out that the rest of the unit was functioning properly.
It is pretty bizarre then. I couldn't find anything in the posts that might indicate this problem either. haven't talked to the seller nor the dealer so I'll post here what I find out. Hopefully it'll be useful info to someone else down the road.
