For loading, I used external resistors wired up with "Y" adapters and RCA plugs fitted with the appropriate loading resistors to provide a "reflected" load of around 100 ohms. Most of my transformers only offer one step up ratio (1:10). The Altec/Peerless 4722 also offers 1:18 and I used a different loading resistor than the 1:10 set ups to bring it to 100 ohms. I did not add an additional load to the 37.5 ohm tap of the CineMag transformer as the reflected load was under 100 ohms just by the 47k ohms presented by my phono stage. As for the cost of the unit the transformers cost $99.96 (shipped) and I had an additional $15 in Neutrik Pro-FI Male RCA plugs, $4 in a Rat Shack project box, sourced locally and $4 in Female RCA jacks sourced from Triode electronics and kept in stock for general use on my repair bench.
So total cost is $122.96.
