Re: Moerch UP 4

Nope, no OTF VTA, which is fine by me. Morch offers an optional OTF VTA adjuster, but I think it compromises the sound of the arm, since the VTA pillar setscrew has to be fully loosened for the OTF device to work. This setscrew needs to be gently tightened for the arm to sound its best.

I think OTF VTA is needless indulgence. If you're messing with the arm settings during each LP you spin, you're being distracted from the music and focusing on the sound instead. I just set it for the best all-around compromise and forget it. Use a stack of playing cards to prop up the arm before loosening the VTA setscrew, then you can add or subtract one card at a time for fine tuning.
