John, here's something else interesting.
I had the 5 scrunched up balls of paper I used for the 'Office Works' paper test sitting on my desk for a few hours. I decided to re-weigh....and found them all a few hundredths of a gram heavier!! I pulled out a fresh sheet (this was a ream I just bought today) and it weighed 5.05g.
It was a warm day here today and the evaporative cooler was running, perhaps the paper absorbed some moisture? If so this could explain the anomolys when testing the 'Reflex' paper - these sheets were the last remains of a ream that had been sitting on the desk for weeks (through summer period, ie cooler running basically every day).I don't think paper is really a stable enough substance to use as a calibrating weight but I'll try to get around to the 2g test while the new ream is fresh. I'm going to try and source a calibrated 2.00g weight.
BTW John, thanks for the heads-up on the magnetic attraction to the digital scale - it was a big oversight on my part.
Cheers - Paul
