I don't know what!

From the picture of the kitchen counter area, I would have guessed that this is a fella who is not married and has an antique electronic fetish!! But, once I saw the ID, I did an about face...

I scanned the pictures in hopes of seeing parts for a 698, but saw none. I am tempted to email him (her?) and ask... about headshells ;2).

What do you make of it? I am not familiar with that "vintage" electronics. BTW, IMHO the rating he gave as to the condition of the 598 seemed a bit inflated, no?

Oh, yeah. While I have you, does your motor make a humming sound? Mine has started... or maybe just gotten loud enough for me to hear. I know nothing about lubricating such a motor as this. Your thoughts? Maybe I will email grinagog and ask for his suggestions too...
