It rang like a bell, until I bought a Tri-Pad, a 3-layer sandwich of cork, acrylic, and Sorbothane-like elastomer. The rubbery stuff adhered to the glass and damped it quite effectively, the cork was easy on the LPs, and the acrylic gave the maker an excuse to spew mumbo-jumbo about resonance matching (which for all I know might even have been true).Sadly, I'm pretty sure the mat company (Eon of Canada) went belly up years ago.
