I thought the inhabitants might be interested in this: Last June I went to the Neko Case concert at Antone's in Austin, Texas. Standing around, I met a French couple from near Marseille who were enthusiasts for American folk, blues etc.. In fact , they were seeing lots of live music on their vacation all over the US. they had been here several time in the past 2 decades. Despite the language barrier (she spoke fair English)we got to talking about audio. I probably asked her if they had listened to a CD of Neko Case or something like that. Anyway she said they listened only to records--they did not even own a CD player! (Also, they didn't have a television either.) In any case, it's rare to meet someone who would travel across the ocean to hear good music.
