How is the state of digital copy vs original LP...

I have been happy with CD listening for the last 5 years with my Sony DVP 9000ES with transformer output directly from the DAC chip. tks to advises from quite a few nice people this forum included. I am listening to tubes amp mainly and prefer to use no cross over full range speaker.
My TT is SME 20 first version, Graham 1.5T, Transfiguration cartridge, and J Rowland Phone amp, but have not been playing them for 5 years, recently I just install the cheapest Stanton to play back with the vintage RIAA, and it does sound fine, mellow but not the final word in resolution.
I feel the need to store all my favorite LP into digital form and I believe the quality should be quite good. Not too sure if in long term listening it will hold against the best LP though, but of course in long run all the LP will be destroyed by the needle.
I am happy that John Alison think that the easily obtainable ML9600 could produce same quality sound and hope to hear more about it in his long term listening experience!
I hope to also ask if other inmate here like digital play back of their LP in the same way that John Alison did...

I wish to discuss this as a hobby, no fire pls, as I merely want to find out from others' first hand experiences - those at least last more then 6 months! I must say I learnt a lot here in the last few years and there is just nothing could be made absolute, as a physics student I should know it, so I like to find it out the hard and long way. Discussing in AA will cut short the process and has been an extremely rewarding and positve experiences!

Tks and best rgds

William Lee
