I'm comparing one right now to the Technics mat and so far, I like the Technics better. Not because the AQ is bad, it's just that I can't hear anything "better" to justify replacing the stock mat. It's MUCH thinner than the Technics mat at about 1/8" or less and makes setting VTA a pain. To get the same VTA with both mats, you have to shim the cartridge when using the AQ and I don't like to do this.I'm probably going to keep the Technics mat and use the AQ on something else.
