For bass, Ray Brown's Soular Energy, either an original or its equal the Pure Audiophile reissue and Bob Marley's Uprising.
For voice, Classic's 45 of CS&N's self titled album for it's wonderful mid-range harmony, Laura Nyro's Live at the Bottom Line, Rickie Lee Jones' Pop Pop, Janis Ian's Breaking Silence and Patrica Barber's Fortnight in France
For dynamic range Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture
For acoustic instruments, among others... Ralph Towners Solo Concerts...Keith Jarrett's Koln Concert and Eric Clapton's Unplugged
