Mike- I believe the most frequently encountered Wood bodied Grado's are the Platinum and Sonata, $300 and $500 respectively and i believe they are virtually identical except for the stylus configuration the Platinum has a bonded eliptical stylus the Sonata
a nude mounted eliptical.
It is confusing as hell, reference this and that etc. but the biggest bang for the buck, highest value Woodies are the Platinum and Sonata and I believe they all share the same virtues and general character throughout the entire line.
And are inordinately musical and intruiging even to those with the ways and means and experience with higher end Low Output MC'sThe TD 125/RB 300 with the Grado Woodie sounds like an incredible
set up ! hope it's tweaked to perfection and the stylus is healthy, but even if it isn't, grado has an excellent, very reasonable re-tip/exchange policy.BTW when I finally get Henry's Bogen in his hands I'll be doing yours and will send you some Jpegs
Kind Regards FredJ
