Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

So what you are saying is ...

the distribution of the mass doesn't matter at all. All else being equal (things like vibration control etc.) all tonearms of the same eff. mass are equal. A big fat blob of a headshell is the same as a big fat blob of a bearing housing? A big fat C/W close to the pivot is no different than a tiny one far away?

Is that what you are saying?

Why wouldn't I want a tonearm with the concentration of mass at the extreme ends? It may not be a bad idea who knows?

So in your new tonearm the position of the masses is unimportant only the final effective mass matters all else being equal.

I really would like to know. Thanks

Cheers!
