the distribution of the mass doesn't matter at all. All else being equal (things like vibration control etc.) all tonearms of the same eff. mass are equal. A big fat blob of a headshell is the same as a big fat blob of a bearing housing? A big fat C/W close to the pivot is no different than a tiny one far away?Is that what you are saying?
Why wouldn't I want a tonearm with the concentration of mass at the extreme ends? It may not be a bad idea who knows?
So in your new tonearm the position of the masses is unimportant only the final effective mass matters all else being equal.
