There's a big divide in good-sounding ones and distant, thin, horrible ones.I recall that when I lost my orig in a fire I went out and bought a replacement, maybe two yrs after orig release and was very dissappointed.
Can't help on matrix #'s or similar, but I do recall that the orig had a perforated 'postcard' novelty cover which could actually be removed and mailed if you wanted.
Later versions blew that off....good luck, let us know what you find,
