Re: Could be bad news

HI, I checked the needle and it looks fine.

Last evening I was experimenting a bit more and got the idea to increase the weight. Then sound improved drastically, to the point of NO distortion at all.... I am completely amazed by the quality of sound reproduction... I played two old Classical Decca LXT's (Rachmaninov/Katchen and Katleen Long with Haydn sonatas) with piano music and the piano came out VERY real. There is colour, bass, nuances.... no clangy sound anymore... Never thought mono could sound like this !!

By the way: this cartridge is not the E25B, but the L7B. It looks exactly the same as the E25B, but then with a slightly different connection to fit the Schlumberger arm. Does anyone know if it actally is the same cartridge... it shure looks like that (I have an E25B, too, and from the outside, it looks the same except for the connection)

Marc
