A farewell score

209.214.93.110

Vinyl fans in the Ft. Lauderdale area are mourning the loss of All Books and Records, which went out of business a couple of weeks ago. I was overseas when it happened, so I didn't know about it until I drove up to the store today, and found the owners busily packing up the remaining stock. They let me search through the dregs, and I came up with the following, a couple of which are gems (particularly at the price - I got the entire 21 album haul for $42).
The gems:
Newport 1958, Duke Ellington (Columbia stereo 6 eye)
Bellafonte at Carnegie Hall (unfortunately an RCA reissue, but in what looks like mint condition)
The rest:
Rickie Lee Jones, Pirates
The original cast album of Camelot (Columbia 2 eye, probably a reissue, but the LP is in a sealed plastic sleeve)
Harry Connuck Jr. Trio
John Farnham, Whispering Jack (an Australian guilty pleasure)
The Best of Warren Zevon
Crosby Stills and Nash, CSN
Free, Fire and Water
Bruce Springsteen, Greetings from Asbury Park
Duke Ellington, Ellington Uptown
Grover Washington Jr, Mistermagic
Yazz, Wanted (an English guilty pleasure)
Wynton Marsalis, Self Titled and J Mood
Steve Miller Band, Fly Like an Eagle
George Carlin, Class Clown (yes, I'm that old, and I inhaled)
Queen, Jazz
Mr. Mr, welcome to the real world
The Crusaders, Street Life
Jackson Browne, The Pretender

The keys to the store are being turned over tomorrow morning, so I might well have been this 40 year old institution's last vinyl customer. Finally, I'm a piece of history. Still, it's sad.
