Platter/mat tweaks for Pro-ject Xpression

A few days ago, I got some helpful ideas (George Mann) in the forum on some tweaks to upgrade the performance of my Xpression. These were
1) Pro-ject speed box
2) Acrylic platter upgrade
3) Ringmat or similar mat
I looked for a replacement platter on Ebay, but I'm wondering if a platter upgrade for a Rega will really fit on the Xpression? The spindle hole seems bigger on the platters I've seen on Ebay and the Iron Audio site. Also, the tech rep for Music Direct said the Iron Audio platter would NOT fit a Pro-ject, that they were machine expressly for Regas (P2,P3,P25).
