I live in Holland but i have cable TV so i can watch the BBC. It was an Idols kinda talent search for opera singers but with a more positive jury. Scored a couple of NM complete opera/oratorio boxes in the thrift:
Donizetti/Lucia di Lammermoor/Beverly Sills a.o./LSO/Schippers on EMI
Verdi/Messa di requiem/BPO/Karajan on DGG
Donizetti/Elisir d'Amore/Carreras a.o./RAI orch./Scimone on Philips
Haydn/Jahreszeiten/VSO/Boehm on DGG
Verdi/Nabucco/Domingo a.o./D.O.Berlin/Sinopoli
Verdi/Un ballo in maschera/Bergonzi a.o./RCA It. orch./Leinsdorf on RCA
plus 4 single classical records, the whole pile for a little over 8 euro. Those boxes take a lot of shelf space but aren't they impressive? Compare that to a CD jewel box with minuscule booklet!
