HW 19 MKIV with JMW 10 - dustcover hinge in way of junction box

I just acquired a MK IV platter and tall dustcover for my HW 19 turntable. The dustcover has not been cut out to accommodate the JMW 10 tonearm junction box. I was going to do this myself. After placing the dustcover and JMW base on the table, I see that the hinge on the dustcover is in the way of the right channel RCA connector on the junction box. Has anybody else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it? If not, do you have any suggestions?
