I always tightened then in place till I found out it's verboten. Supposedly it's ok with plastic bodied carts, but my old K18/2 was metal however and Linn theory tells you need to really torque down. I zeroed the arm and floated it all around w/ no binding or seizing anywhere so I assume it's ok. What did you notice that indicated it was damaged?
