Re: Dynavector XV-1s on Graham 2.2

At least some of what you heard is probably attributable to the difference between the 2.2 and SME V, which I had on a VPI Aries and the Kuzma.

The XV-1s is gone. I didn't feel that the performance was up to a top-level product, and a review was never written. Front end: Kuzma Stabi Reference, Graham 2.2, Graham IC70 & Hovland MG2, CJ Premier 15-2 & Aesthetix Rhea.

I replaced the 2.2 with a Phantom (those Kuzma armboards are expensive) a few months ago. Think of a 450 pound Sumo wrestler (Phantom) and a 250 pound Sumo wrestler. Both get the job done, but the "big boy" has more weight and body all across the range.

I'm working (insert wink here) on a line review of Ortofon's Jubilee, and Kontrapunkt A & B. The Jubilee on a Phantom is a great combination, especially the way it keeps everything clear and distinct during complex music (no blurring). And the bass is explosive, similar to an Insider.
