as advised, i have added a two MM shim to my rega toneram after installing the grado red. the difference is huge. also this grado cartridge is phenominal and i am bummed that i let all of the talk of hum with rega arms cause me to wait so long before sticking one on here.
if anyone is interested, i shimmed the arm with washers i found through mcmaster.com, where for 5.95 i got 10 1 mm thick washers that work perfectly. i couldn't see the sense in paying 15 dollars for .50 steel washer.
