Thanks for the response, bln. Does your mat have 3 radial grooves spaced 120 degrees apart? That's what mine has.I'm thinking of getting a new mat, anyway. I'm looking at the AudioQuest Sorbogel mat, which I hope can tame the h-k's ringing metal platter.
As far as VTA, I don't believe the Ito arm has any provision for adjustment. I don't know if you can use spacers under its base as an alternative to getting a thinner mat. I will be looking into this once I have the turntable up and running with the Shure M97XE I just got.
