I'm resurrecting my H-K T60C turntable which has been stored away for probably 15 years. I found that the tonearm and platter appear to be in good shape: they still move freely with no signs of binding or friction. The floating suspension has sagged a bit on one side but the adjustment screws can compensate for that. The belt has to be replaced as it no longer fits snugly.I'm unsure about the rubber mat. It seems a little stiff, as if the rubber has hardened over the years, but I don't remember what it was like when new. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. I can flex the sides about 1" but that's all.
Can any owner of the T60 (or other h-k turntables in the series with the black rubber mat) tell me if the rubber should be soft or if, in fact, it's supposed to be stiff and rather inflexible.
Thanks!
